Julia Harkins Arcand, LCSW works with adolescents (16+) and adults experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, relationships, LGBTQ issues, adjusting to major life events, chronic insomnia, and other stressors. She has a client-centered approach with an emphasis on compassion and accepting people where they are in the present moment. She primarily uses cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and EMDR approaches, helping people to explore and work to change the patterns that may be keeping them stuck in emotional pain.
Julia facilitates the Mindfulness for the Proactive Management of Depression and Anxiety group as well as a Sleep Solutions for the management of chronic insomnia.
Ms. Harkins received her undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s of Social Work) and graduate degree (Master’s of Social Work) from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
