Dr. Holt has a breadth of experience treating children (generally 5+), adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of presenting concerns. She specializes in the treatment of trauma, autism spectrum disorders, mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, grief, self-concept development, stress management, and adjustment to transition. Dr. Holt uses an integrative therapeutic approach, tailoring treatment to best fit the needs and values of every individual. As a therapist, Dr. Holt’s intention is to provide a nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship, support clients through life challenges, and help clients discover how to live authentically and vitally in a complex world. She believes that therapy should be a meaningful and life-changing process for the individual, and much of her work incorporates the use of mindfulness techniques stemming from her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). A mindfulness-based approach to treatment focuses on altering the individual’s sense of suffering in service of increasing purpose and connection to the world.
Dr. Holt conducts psychology evaluations for children (generally 5+), adolescents, and adults. She provides the following type of assessments: autism spectrum evaluations, learning disorder evaluations, intellectual functioning, memory functioning, ADHD evaluations, personality and emotional functioning.
Dr. Holt obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and her master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Denver. Dr. Holt completed her pre-doctoral American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship training at Regional Mental Health Center in northern Indiana. She completed her post-doctoral training at Psychology Specialists, a group practice in Bloomington, Illinois.
